Hello. My name is Ed Hogan. I am the new pastor of First Methodist Church of Ore City. My wife is named Kim. We enjoy spending our time with family and friends and that usually involves good food. My wife and I both love sports so we invest time in watching football and golf a lot. I like walking my two dogs, working in my yard, enjoying nature through hunting and fishing. Relationships are important to me and I enjoy investing time getting to know people.

It is said that East Texas has a way of calling our children home. I left Longview at age twenty and never really expected to be back but here we are. I pastored and served in churches that were all very large. It was great, but sometimes it felt like I was a mile wide and an inch deep. It was hard to know people in a deep and meaningful way. Ore City is allowing me that opportunity. I believe in church growth, but that has to be measured numerically and spiritually.

When you come visit us you will find a warm and friendly group of people. Dress is casual. We have a traditional service option and two contemporary options. We are in the process of adding activities for our youth and children and we provide opportunities for all ages. We have church wide fellowship once a month. This is the way we all get to know each other. Come and visit us. I think you will find that it is time well spent.
